I create invented architecture that balances on the boundaries between representation and abstraction, and form and content. I begin with thumbnails in a notebook and develop final work digitally, by hand or in combination. My objective is to merge strong composition with monochromatic color and subtle texture to evoke a spare, unpeopled world of daunting structures absent any ingress or egress, or obstructed views seen through bars of varying widths and directions. To achieve this, my work encompasses printmaking (traditional and digital), drawing (an amalgam of cut paper and various drawing media) and artist books (created digitally, hand-assembled from a single sheet of folded paper printed by hand or digitally).
